Dolphins FC Football Academy formally opened at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City with hopes of developing young football players. Academy owner John Carmona, a former national team player, described the institution’s philosophy as “positive and dynamic football,” noting, “They train the way they play.”
“The academy’s five pillars of development are technically sound, technically aware, physically strong, mentally tough, and posses a good outstanding character with principles and values,” he explained.
Among the academy’s technical staff are Asian Football Confederation and Philippine Football Federation-licensed coaches Bon Lagahit, John Moreno, Jonilda Delim, and Reggie Miraflor.
Meanwhile, Carmona said they are currently in final talks with Singapore-based Brazilian Jericho Soccer Academy (BJSA). According to their website, BJSA was created with the intention of teaching Brazilian-style soccer to the children and teenagers in Singapore.
“The game’s essence, skill, and good character are imbued in the participants while allowing them to grasp their full potential while playing the game within the confines of the rules, illustrating teamwork, and responsibility expected of a footballer,” the organization noted./ASC, WDJ
