The four persons of interests in the rape and murder of 14-year-old Jemeiah Rose Oliveros, whose remains were found in an advanced state of decomposition in Bago City’s Barangay Binubohan earlier this month, voluntarily agreed to undergo DNA testing. Bago City police chief, Police Major John Joel Batusbatusan, said the four submitted themselves for testing, wherein they underwent blood swabbing.
Batusbatusan said they are currently awaiting the results, which were submitted to the crime laboratory.
Meanwhile, three witnesses have since surfaced and submitted affidavits to police. In addition, the city’s police force has organized a special investigation task group to monitor the case.
Based on initial investigations, the victim was told to visit the home of Jessie Buenabeles to retrieve her father’s mobile phone on New Year’s Day but failed to return home./DGB, WDJ
