A four-year-old boy drowned in the Malogo River in EB Magalona. Police identified the fatality as Jestoni Cabrillos, a resident of the town’s Barangay Nanca.
EB Magalona municipal police chief, Police Captain Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., said Cabrillos went missing on Wednesday, prompting the town’s rescue group and the Philippine Coast Guard to immediately initiate a search and rescue operation.
By Wednesday evening, rescuers were forced to suspend the search as it was dark and the river’s current posed a threat.
Yesterday morning, however, authorities managed to locate Cabrillos’ remains, which were found four meters from where he was last seen.
