Ginebra aims to take the trophy tonight

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will be looking to secure the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup tonight when they face the Meralco Bolts in Game 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Barangay Ginebra currently leads 3-1 in the best-of-seven series after taking Game 4 last Wednesday with a convincing 94-72 win.
“We were very methodical [in Game 4] in breaking them down on the offensive side,” said Ginebra head coach Tim Cone. “We weren’t rushing; we built the lead slowly then kept it when we got it.”
“We did a great job against [Allen Durham], we held him to eight points at halftime,” he added. “If you’re going to do that to a player like that, you better win the basketball game.”
Meanwhile, for the Bolts, head coach Norman Black hopes his players recover quickly.
“We just have to do a better job on transition defense and half-court defense,” the coach explained. “If we don’t score, I’m not really too concerned about that because if you play good defense, then you’ll probably end up scoring.”
“Good defense normally leads to scoring,” he added. “I just want to see more effort.”/ASC, WDJ
