Negros Occidental provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa has been given 15 days to submit a list of delayed provincial government projects, along with naming their respective contractors. He added, the Provincial Engineer’s Office official informed him their report is “almost complete.”
Diaz explained, the projects need to be completed in order to have some provincial offices moved in, such as the Provincial Multi-Purpose Building, which experienced a wall collapse last year.
Government offices initially based at the Provincial Administration Center have been relocated in order for the building to be demolished, allowing Dynamic Builders and Construction Company Inc., which successfully bid for the project, to erect a new structure.
Diaz added, demolition will commence once the Provincial Veterinary Office vacates.
In December 2018, it was reported the demolition was set to take place the following month after acting provincial administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, said the provincial government asked Dynamic Builders for more time in order to relocate their offices to other buildings.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, who is currently serving as acting governor, said he will ask Mapa to provide him the copy of the report in order to keep him and the Provincial Board updated./DGB, WDJ
