Massive Sto. Niño

The San Jose Placer Parish Church is planning to create a massive Sto. Niño image comprised of 5,000 candles as part of the Feast of Señor Santo Niño, an event of Iloilo City’s annual Dinagyang Festival. According to parish priest, Fr. Raymundo Edsel Alcayaga, the lighting will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.
The image is expected to stretch across the entirety of the street in front of the church, which will be closed to traffic.
Prior to the lighting, a novena mass will be held at 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, beginning tomorrow, visitations by the Sto. Niño de Cebu will take place across the city until January 23.
This weekend, a fun day for the children of the barangays of the parish, Sto. Niño Mass for barangay children, along with a caravan to the 10 parish barangays will take place on Saturday, January 18; while a medical and dental mission, and the reenactment of the Coronation of Niño Ambassador 2020 are scheduled for Sunday, January 19.
A healing mass for the aged, sick, and abandoned is set to take place on January 21; the fluvial procession and solemn foot procession and mass and blessing of Sto. Niño images, pregnant mothers, and children is scheduled for January 24.
Next weekend, the Grand Religious Sadsad will take place in front of the church on Saturday, January 25; and the concelebrated high mass will be celebrated the following day, January 26./WDJ
