A buy-bust operation recently conducted in Binalbagan’s Barangay San Pedro yielded P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu. Binalbagan Municipal Police Station chief, Police Major Fernando Somblingo, identified the suspects as 24-year-old Herme Jun Abalajon (alias ‘James’), a resident of the town’s Barangay Rosario; 21-year-old Joemarie Ferrer (alias ‘Ber-ber’), a resident of the town’s Barangay Enclaro; 31-year-old Joebel Siatong of the town’s Barangay San Pedro; and 31-year-old Yan-yan Comita of Barangay 1 in Kabankalan City.
According to the police report, law enforcement personnel and the station’s drug enforcement team led the operation, where they recovered one plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 250 grams, with an estimated street value of P2.5 million; a weighing scale; plastic straw; tooter; two mobile phones; and cash amounting to P1,650.
The suspects and confiscated items were subsequently brought to the police station for proper disposition. The suspected shabu will then be submitted to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for examination while appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects.
Somblingo added, the operation was “properly coordinated” with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional office./DGB, WDJ
