Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson announced he will be traveling to San Francisco for a holiday and has designated Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer as acting governor starting today. He will maintain the role until January 18.
In addition, the governor also reiterated their commitment to the province.
“Ferrer will take care of the legislative and I will take care of the executive functions for the good of the province,” he explained.
Lacson also commented on recent reports where the vice governor was pressed to affirm he would not run for governor in the next elections.
“I wish the media did not ask him that question because Vice Governor Ferrer and I are committed to working together for the province,” he said. “The vice governor is just reiterating our commitment.”/DGB, WDJ
