Escalante: Two K-pop groups scheduled to perform
Cadiz City Mayor Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr. yesterday announced the city is prepared for the 46th Dinagsa Festival with highlights, namely the Ati-atihan Street Competition, scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 25.
During a press conference, the mayor said he is expecting to surpass last year’s attendance of 700,000. He also introduced “Niño,” the festival’s mascot.
He said this year’s festival will kick off with the inauguration of the newly-renovated city park.
“It is now well lighted and has more open spaces,” Escalante said.
In addition, the event’s “Lamhitanay” will feature water-based luminous paint that can be seen at night.
The mayor also said two K-pop groups will perform on January 26.
Meanwhile, Escalante said, in preparation for the event, traffic rerouting will be implemented while a 300-strong Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office security augmentation force was requested to maintain peace and order./DGB, WDJ
