Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer affirmed last Tuesday that he will not run for governor in the next elections.

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer affirmed last Tuesday that he will not run for governor in the next elections and insisted the merger between the province’s main political coalitions, the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) and Love Negros, is “holding.”
“I will not run for governor,” he stated. “I am OK with my current position as vice governor [and], if it’s God’s will, I will finish my term of nine years.”
Ferrer said the merger has brought peace, noting, “If there are those who have ambitions, there will be no peace.”
Currently, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is a member of Love Negros, while the vice governor serves as president of UNegA.
“I and Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson talk only about governance matters not about politics,” he added./DGB, WDJ
