The Energy Development Corporation (EDC) reforestation project at Mt. Talinis in Negros Oriental continue in an effort to ensure reservoirs are maintained, which are necessary in the operation of geothermal plants.
Between 2009 and last year, the company has planted nearly three million trees across Negros. Recently, EDC employees planted over 100 native trees on the elevation.
“The team of climbers from our corporate social responsibility department, and other departments, bonded with other residents of our partner communities in Valencia, Negros Oriental as we planted and grew native trees on Mount Talinis,” explained EDC-Negros corporate social responsibility head Norreen G. Bautista. “Each tree growing activity brings out the participants’ ‘Bayanihan spirit.’”
This is the second time the team has conducted a tree-planting activity on Mt. Talinis. (PR)

EDC recently sent a team of climbers to Mt. Talinis as part of their ongoing reforestation project.
