Following yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson announced plans for a P25 million “state-of-the-art” command center for the province.
He noted, the facility will be located at the Panaad Stadium and that the P25 million is intended to fund the 911 emergency communication network.
The governor said the project will result in a “more effective disaster response.”
Last year, after Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas vowed to create the “best command center in the Visayas,” the city government signed a usufruct agreement with the Gaisano Capital Group to establish the Iloilo City Action and Response Center. A usufruct agreement permits an outside party to use a piece of property for a period of time.
The structure will be situated on a 375-square meter lot in Iloilo City’s Mandurriao district./WDJ
