Macau beat Alab Pilipinas, 98-93

The Wolf Warriors of Macau scored a 98-93 victory over San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas over the weekend in the ongoing 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
With the score tied at 91-91 with two minutes left in the game, a three-pointer by Julian Boyd and a basket from Doug Herring broke the deadlock and secured the win.
Herring finished with 21 points and 10 boards for the Macanese side; while Boyd also scored 21, along with delivering 12 rebounds; Steven Thomas added 10 points and 12 rebounds; Chen Cai contributed 15 points; and Scott Ewing scored 13.
“I have the ultimate respect for Filipino basketball,” said Wolf Warriors head coach Todd Purves. “They have passionate fans and how hard they play.”
“Going here and beating a Filipino team feels really good,” he added. “It’s a good win for our organization after a difficult year last year.”
Meanwhile, despite the loss, Nick King finished with 33 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and a block; while Sam Deguara delivered four points and seven rebounds; Khalif Wyatt shot 3-of-12 from the field for 15 markers; Lawrence Domingo contributed 11 points; Jeremiah Gray offered up 10; and Jason Brickman added nine assists and seven points./ASC, WDJ
