The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) held their annual Governor’s Cup Table Tennis Championship last weekend at the LOPTTA venue located at Lopue’s San Sebastian.
Ameera Bacomo won the girls’ 10-and-under competition, Daryl Gorecho won the boys’ 10-and-under, Dianah Yapiso—girls’ 13, SB Ginete—boys’ 13, Kheith Rhynne Cruz—girls’ 18, George Saligumba—boys’ 18, Kheith Rhynne Cruz—women’s open, John Michael Castro—men’s open, Ruby Ann Longno—women’s executive A, Dr. Analou Claridad—women’s executive B, Pastor Richard Ginete—men’s executive, and Robert Arteche—veterans (60-up).
According to the organization, the tournament complies by the Negros Occidental Provincial Sports Office mission of developing grassroots sports programs in the province.
“In every tournament, players should be given the chance to experience playing in a venue that is not oven hot, International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) tables that are all of the same brand and model, ITTF rules, and game schedules published at the start of the tournament to allow players to know when to eat, rest, and warm up,” LOPTTA noted in a press release. “Tournaments should be player friendly.”/ASC, WDJ
