The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday reported New Year’s Day celebrations in the city were peaceful. BCPO spokesperson, Police Lt. Colonel Ariel Pico, said during the revelry, they recorded four incidents across the city.
The law enforcement official said three of the incidents were attributed to road accidents, while they recorded one robbery incident.
Pico said peaceful celebrations were due to BCPO’s continuous police visibility, along with information dissemination on prohibited firecrackers and crime prevention tips through the distribution of flyers and utilizing social media.
Police also noted, the public was in full cooperation and did their share in achieving a peaceful and orderly celebration./DGB, WDJ
