A resident of Bago City’s Barangay Balingsag incurred injuries after he was attacked on Christmas day at the said place.

Police identified the victim as Julio Pareja, 26, and suspect as Jun Troy Maquiling, 35, also from the said locality.

Initial investigation disclosed that while the victim was walking his way home, he saw the suspect hiding “in a dark portion” behind an acacia tree. He got closer to the suspect to greet him but the latter drew his bladed weapon, attacked and hacked the victim several times hitting different parts of his body.
The suspect escaped to unknown direction after the incident bringing along with him the undetermined weapon used in the crime, police added.
The victim was brought to Bago City Hospital for immediate medical treatment and was referred to South Bacolod General Hospital./WDJ
