The Sagay City Christmas Fair opened earlier this month at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) and is scheduled to run until Monday, December 23. The event is traditionally held at the Sagay City Public Plaza but it is currently undergoing renovations.
“Let us rejoice and be glad as we prepare for the coming of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ,” said Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III. “Jesus Christ is the reason for this season.”
“Christmas, after all, is hope, joy, and love,” he added.
In his address, Vice Mayor Narciso Javelosa, Jr. echoed similar sentiment, calling on the public to “draw inspiration from our Lord Jesus Christ for infinite love and goodness.”
Nightly presentations, which have been held throughout the celebration, will continue through the weekend.
In addition, a closing ceremony, including the distribution of awards, is scheduled for the final day.
Meanwhile, the Sagay Water District will be sponsoring a fireworks display at the BCGC on New Year’s Eve./WDJ
