The Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) announced December residential rates are up by P1.06 per kilowatt hour (kWh), increasing from last month’s P9.4019/kWh to P10.4678/kWh.
The utility co-op earlier reported a 30¢ decline in rates from October to November.
According to a release from Ceneco, 99¢ of the fluctuation were illustrated in reductions in generation charges, transmission charges, and system loss.
Meanwhile, marginal increases were exhibited in lifeline and senior citizen subsidies; adjustments to the generation rate adjustment mechanism, which the National Power Corporation uses to recover deferred fuel costs; and the value-added tax.
Earlier this month, Ceneco issued a reminder to consumers on their various billing policies, along with the process of disconnection.
Among the points highlighted include ensuring bills are paid within nine days of receipt and that all payments are made at authorized outlets,
In terms of disconnection, the local utility co-op noted disconnections are made only after the due date and are conducted two days after receiving a notice. They also discouraged waiting for a disconnection notice before paying one’s bill./WDJ
