At least three homes were severely damaged early yesterday morning after they were struck by a pickup truck along Araneta Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub.
Police identified the driver of the truck as 29-year-old Jay Philip Uy, a resident of the said barangay.
Police Station 8 (PS8) traffic investigator, Police Master Sergeant Randy Abello, said the pickup was heading south when it struck an electrical post, a parked pedicab, and motorcycle, along with plowing into three homes.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the affected houses escaped unharmed but their homes suffered extensive damage.
In addition, Uy’s vehicle was totally wrecked.
The driver was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center for treatment.
It has yet to be determined if Uy fell asleep at the wheel or was driving while intoxicated./DGB, WDJ
