Iloilo City recognized by several government agencies

The Iloilo City government was recently recognized by several government agencies.
The Department of Finance-Region VI noting the city generated the highest revenue among highly urbanized cities in the Western Visayas; the Department of Trade and Industry-Region VI gave the city top marks for improvement, resiliency, and government efficiency; while the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development cited the city for sustained excellence in maintaining filaria-free status, passing the World Health Organization Transmission Assessment Surveillance Level II for the fourth consecutive year, and the Iloilo City Health Office was awarded the Manuel L. Quezon Top Performing City Health Office Award.
“These awards manifest our continuing efforts and achievements as a livable, sustainable, and resilient city,” said Mayor Jerry P. Treñas. “These recognitions are testament to our inclusive development and good governance benefitting Ilonggos.”
In addition, the Council for the Welfare of Children named Iloilo City a national finalist for the Presidential Award for the Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities./WDJ
