Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson called on authorities to solve the killing of the elder brother of former Bacolod City Councilor Ricardo Tan, businessman Roberto ‘Kaishek’ Tan.
“What is important is the solution to the case and other extrajudicial killings,” the governor urged. “Unless authorities can really determine who is responsible for this recent killing, and also those before Tan, then we, the public, would come out with our own conclusions.”
Tan was gunned down by unidentified assailants aboard a motorcycle last weekend.
A report by the Bacolod City Police Office said the victim was driving his Nissan Sentra when he was shot dead at 9:45 a.m. along CL Montelibano Avenue in the Greensville 1 subdivision in Bacolod City’s Barangay Estefania.
Aside from Tan, a man hog-tied with masking tape around his head and other parts of his body was found dumped in Murcia over the weekend; while a musician was killed in Talisay City last Sunday.
Lacson said, if authorities are unable to come up with solutions, such killings would fall on suspicions related to illegal drugs./DGB, WDJ
