battle for the lead tonight

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and NorthPort Batang Pier will be looking to break the 1-1 deadlock in their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. NorthPort took Game 1 over the weekend with a 124-90 win, while Barangay Ginebra tied up the series earlier this week with a 113-88 victory.
Stanley Pringle tallied 23 points for Ginebra in Game 2, while LA Tenorio contributed 20, Greg Slaughter scored 16, and Justin Brownlee added 15.
After a back-and-forth to open the first period, Barangay Ginebra created distance behind Slaughter, Tenorio, and Brownlee for a 31-18 edge. Into the second, shots by Jeffrei Chan, Slaughter, Tenorio, and Brownlee widened their advantage to 62-44.
Ginebra pulled away for good in the second half with three-point conversions from Tenorio, Pringle, and Scottie Thompson and led by as much as 33 points.
Despite the loss, Michael Qualls finished with 20 points for NorthPort, while Sean Anthony added 19, and Christian Standhardinger chipped in 10./ASC, WDJ
