Following their win over Congressional District Sports Association-3 (CDSA-3), the Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) retained their men’s basketball title at the 2019 Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet, which came to a close last week.
Dave Bagatnan top-scored for ILOPRISAA with 32 points; while Cedrick Manzano provided 12 blocks, 18 points, and 22 rebounds.
ILOPRISAA, which was represented by Hua Siong College of Iloilo, surged to an early advantage behind inside conversions from Bagatnan. CDSA-3 then rallied and trimmed the deficit to five but ILOPRISAA pulled away anew behind Bagatnan, Manzano, and Reneil Gamboa and led by as much as 23 points.
The winners will next compete in the 2020 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet, which is scheduled to run from February 15 to 22 in Makato, Aklan./ASC, WDJ
