A resident of Barangay Mina-utok in Calatrava town was shot dead by three suspects, 12:30 a.m. on Sunday at Sitio Perssons of the said barangay.

OIC police chief, Police Major Rocky Desear, identified the victim as Amado Granton Sabanal, 62, and resident of the place. The suspects were also identified as Macky Tapang, 22; Johnny Patok, 35 and a23-year old alias “Gallego,” all of Sitio Mahusay of the barangay.

The victim reportedly saw the three suspects standing near their house after hearing a gunshot outside. He approached the suspects and talked to them but one took his firearm, shot the victim and fled after the incident. Using a .45 caliber firearm, the victim was hit in the left forehead.

He was rushed to Bato District Hospital in Sagay City but was declared dead-on-arrival by attending physician.

Police is investigating the motive of the incident./WDJ
