The Bacolod City chapter of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (SCOOP) recently presented the Sports Patron Award for Volleyball to Bacolodnon sportsman Jose Montalbo for his contributions to the development of the sport in the city.
“I am glad that SCOOP-Bacolod was able to recognize what I am doing in sports for Negros Occidental,” said the team manager for the Bacolod Tay Tung High School secondary girls’ volleyball team. “This citation inspires me to help talented youth to develop their talents as well as promoting not just volleyball but also other sports here in Negros Occidental.”
The organization also presented the Legendary Sportsman Award to Roger Banzuela for volleyball, Antonio Oquindo, Jr. and Adolf Ledesma – softball, Juan Ramon Guanzon and Vic Tan – boxing, and Oscar Bascon – basketball./ASC, WDJ
