Antiqueño ‘sakada’ stabbed dead by brother in Kabankalan

A sugarcane farmer or “sakada” from the province of Antique was stabbed dead by his brother-coworker around 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Sitio Biaren in Kabankalan City’s Barangay Linao.

Police identified the victim as Elmer Narciso Pedro, 25, single of Barangay Uloc, Laua-an, Antique and temporarily residing in the city’s Barangay Talubangi, and the suspect as his older brother Alvin, 45, also resident of the place.

The suspect reportedly decided to go back to their quarters at Hacienta San Isidro of the said sitio. He was then followed by the victim and had an argument resulting to the incident.

The victim sustained stab wounds to the lower chest, left shoulder and chin and was rushed to Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital but declared dead-on-arrival by attending physician.

Police investigation is still ongoing to determine the motive of killing./WDJ
