PHL takes bronze medals in beach volleyball

Both the Philippine men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams finished the 2019 Southeast Asian Games with bronze medals.
The ladies pairs of Cherry Rondina and Negrense outside hitter Bernadeth Pons and Angelique Gervacio and Dij Rodriguez secured their medals after beating Singapore; while the men’s teams, comprised of Jaron Requinton, Jude Garcia, James Buytrago, and Edmar Bonono, also secured bronze by beating Singapore.
Rondina and Pons scored a 21-17, 21-13 straight set domination over Serene Ng and Ee Shan Lau; while Gervacio and Rodriguez pulled off a 21-18, 21-16 win over Eliza Hui Hui Chong and Gladys Lee.
On the men’s side, Requinton and Garcia secured the Philippines’ 2-1 win with a 25-23, 21-13 victory over Kingsley Tai and Trevis Tan./ASC, WDJ
