12 out of the Philippines’ 13 boxers earned medals at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Aside from Negrense boxers Rogen Ladon and James Palicte, other gold medal winners include Eumir Marcial taking the men’s middleweight division, Nesthy Petecio winning in the women’s featherweight division, and Charly Suarez capturing the men’s lightweight division.
Silver medalists included Marjon Piañar in the men’s welterweight division, Irish Magno in the women’s flyweight division, and Riza Pasuit in the lightweight division.
Meanwhile, winning a bronze alongside Ian Clark Bautista of Binalbagan was Aira Villegas in the women’s bantamweight division.
In addition, Carlo Paalam won gold in the men’s light flyweight division, while Josie Gabuco captured gold in the women’s light flyweight division.
John Marvin, who bowed out in the quarterfinals, was the lone Pinoy boxer to fail to win a medal.
