One passenger was killed while four others were injured, including two female minors, around 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Purok Fatima inKabankalan City’s Barangay Tagukon.

The casualty was identified as 30-year-old Joan Alvarez, married and resident of the said barangay. She was brought to the hospital but declared dead-on-arrival by attending physician.

Injured were identified as Jeremy De la Torre Alvarez, the victim’s husband and the tricycle driver; Josefa Saldua Gomez, 63, and two female minors aged 1 and 8.

They were heading south to Tagukon when bumped by a Canter truck running the opposite direction.

The driver of the truck was arrested and detained at Kabankalan City Police Station for proper disposition./WDJ
