Sipalay City struck by several earthquakes over the weekend

A total of five earthquakes were recorded in and around Sipalay City over the weekend.
Starting on Saturday morning, a 2.1-magnitude tremor was detected at 1:39 a.m.; just under an hour later, a 2.3-magnitude quake struck at 2:35 a.m.
At 3:55 a.m., another 2.1-magnitude earthquake struck north of the city and, around 5:45 a.m. that same morning, a 2.7-magnitude tremor was also detected north of the city.
The fifth earthquake struck yesterday afternoon with a 2.5-magnitude tremor occurring at 4:07 p.m.
Meanwhile, other areas of the local area were also affected by earthquakes.
A 2.2-magnitude quake struck Valencia, Negros Oriental at 1:09 p.m.; while a 2.1-magnitude tremor struck Anini-y, Antique that evening just before midnight.
Subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletins reported no damage as a result of the seismic activity nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
