A 2.3-magnitude earthquake was detected earlier yesterday morning just south of Leon. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake struck at 4:03 a.m.
A subsequent Phivolcs bulletin reported no damage in the Iloilo town as a result of the seismic activity nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Earlier this week, a 2.5-magnitude quake struck San Miguel, Iloilo.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
