Following a memorandum of agreement signing yesterday at Iloilo City Hall, the city was formally declared a “Globe GoWiFi site,” wherein key areas in the city will be provided WiFi access. The ceremony was led by Globe WiFi Business Group director Janis Racpan, Visayas-Globe Business industry head Paulette Villaflor, VisMin-Globe Business cluster head Carlo Ortiz, Management Information Systems head Francis Cruz, and Iloilo City Mayor Gerry P. Treñas.
“This partnership with Iloilo City is a huge step for us at GoWiFi in reaching and connecting more customers in areas outside Luzon,” said Racpan. “By providing free, high quality connectivity to constituents, we aim to be of significant help in the city’s continuous growth as an economic center in the Western Visayas region.”
With a formal partnership in place, GoWiFi services will available in areas around the city by early 2020, including City Hall, Sunburst Park, and the Freedom Grandstand.
Several additional areas are also set to be connected in the future. (PR)
