A total of 47 personnel from the Philippine Army 62nd Infantry Battalion (62IB), 31st Division Reconnaissance Company, Technical Support Company, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6 received Military Commendation Medals, which were awarded by 303rd Infantry Brigade (303IB) commander, Brigadier General Benedict Arevalo, last Monday at the 62IB headquarters in Isabela.
The recipients were recognized for their recent accomplishments that resulted in one enemy combatant killed, along with one wounded, during a gun battle with the New Peoples’ Army at Sitio Canlusong in Isabela’s Barangay Cansalongon. They were also awarded for another encounter that led to the recovery of various war materials at Sitio Tagmanok in Himamaylan City’s Barangay Caradio-an.
Arevalo commended the awardees for their “relentless effort” in hunting down members of the terror group and preventing them from causing harm to the community.
“Nobody believes the recycled lies and propaganda of this terrorist group, along with their legal front, who are now gradually being unmasked [and revealing] their true connection with terrorism,” he said.
The 303IB commander also ordered the 62IB to remain vigilant against the “destructive strategy” perpetrated by the insurgents./DGB, WDJ
