La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan said recycled plastic will be used for the props used by the dancers in the annual Bailes de Luces Festival. The mayor said festivities are scheduled to open on December 14.
She noted, barangays have already gathered plastic materials through an exchange program where two kilograms of plastic can be swapped for one kilogram of rice.
The mayor said local elementary and high schools will be participating in this year’s festival.
Nicor-Mangilimutan also revealed the Bailes Luces Festival will participate in the All Dance Intercontinental Competition, which takes place in Rome, Italy in April 2020.
She said 12 dancers will compose the Bailes de Luces contingency.
Bailes de Luces recently won in the foreign category of the Wonju Dynamic Dancing Festival, which took place in South Korea./DGB, WDJ
