The members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod  (SP) passed a resolution confirming and ratifying the extension of the Contract of Services between the city and IPM Construction and Development Corporation (IPM-CDC) for the management and operation of the sanitary landfill facility in Barangay Felisa.

The extension period is from December 1, 2019 to February 28, 2020.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said the council passed the resolution following the request of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia for extension which was stipulated in the contract for the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) to prepare the needed documents for bidding next year.

The IPM-CDC contracted the city for the management and operation of the sanitary landfill in the amount of P71,984,261.34 covering the period of February to November 30 this year.

The SP recently approved the extension for three months, withthe months of January and February 2020 be held pending for approval of the city’s 2020 annual budget as collateral.

The IPM-CDC is the contractor of the city in its environment and sanitary services since Mayor Evelio Leonardia assumed post on June 2016.

Meanwhile, Leonardia’s request for a passage of a resolution ratifying contract extension with IPM-CDC for the collection, hauling and disposal of garbage is pending in the Committee on Laws because the effectivity is January of next year.

Familiaran added, it was only accepted by the Committee on Laws, and no resolution yet./DGB, WDJ
