The sixth fatality in the Java Pension House fire in Bacolod City last Tuesday has finally been identified as Arniel Bajenting, a hardware company salesman and a resident of Cebu, confirmed by spouse yesterday.

The victim’s wife, Evelyn said her husband went to Bacolod City for business and normally checks-in for the night wherever he ends up for the day.

Evelyn said her family was extremely sad over the incident, especially since the holiday season is already nearing.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) arson investigators are still probing the cause of the blaze but initial findings show that the fire began at the hotel’s ground floor hallway which quickly traveled to the upper floors./DGB, WDJ
