A five-year-old minor was found dead yesterday morning after she was reportedly killed by her own aunt in the town of Pontevedra in Negros Occidental.

Police has requested anonimity of the victim and her 24-year-old aunt, who is believed to be suffering from a mental illness.

Based on an investigation carried out by the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station, aside from being killed, the aunt allegedly inserted an unknown item inside the victim’s genitals.

The suspect was immediately arrested in a follow-up operation and is currently detained at the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
