The Bacolod City Public Library conducted a storytelling contest for students of various public high schools in this city last Tuesday, November 26.
The contest was part of the celebration of the 85th National Book Week, with the theme, “Inclusive, Innovative, Interconnected.” It was also part of the 29th Library and Information Services Month and National Children’s Month, according to City Librarian Greta Memoria.
Nefthalie Cataluña of Luisa Medel National High School was declared the champion.
Tristan Palenge of Handumanan National High School finished second, while Kassel May Perania of Bacolod City National High School won third place.
Executive Assistant Moises Dela Cruz delivered an inspirational message.
The board of judges was composed of Executive Assistant Imogene Kanaan, Dr. Ruvy Tuble, vice president of the Negros Occidental Librarians Association, and lifestyle columnist and tour guide Betsy Gazo. (Bacolod City PIO)
