Businessman shot dead in Sagay City

A Muslim businessman was shot dead by a riding-in-tandem around 6:45 a.m. yesterday at the Municipal Subdivision in Sagay City’s Barangay Poblacion I.

Sagay City OIC chief, Police Major Antonio Benitez, Jr., identified the victim as Joemar Pendaliday also known as Abdul Mohammad, 36, married and resident of the said place.

He was declared dead-on-the-spot after sustaining four gunshot wounds to his back that exited to his chest from unidentified caliber firearm.

The victim was washing his passenger bus when shot by the suspects who immediately fled to unknown direction.

His wife, who is in Manila bound overseas, immediately went home upon hearing husband’s incident.

The victim owns a double-tire Cebro passenger bus plying Sagay to Bacolod and a Foton aircon passenger vehicle.

Further investigation is ongoing to identify the motive of the shooting./WDJ
