The Negros Occidental provincial government recently signed a memorandum of agreement to provide the Provincial Government Maritime Scholarship. Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed the agreement last week at the Provincial Capitol with the Visayan Maritime Academy Global College, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation, various manning agencies, and scholarship recipients.
Eligible students must be enrolled at either school and taking up coursework towards a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering or Marine Transportation.
Through the scholarship, the provincial government will pay tuition and fees, while the manning agencies offered to provide employment following a training period.
The governor addressed the scholarship beneficiaries and advised them to commit to their studies and not to waste the opportunity.
