Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed Senator Cynthia Villar will arrive in the province today for the opening of the 14th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival, which will take place in front of the Provincial Capitol building in Bacolod City.
Aside from Villar, Lacson said they also invited Department of Agriculture Secretary William Dar and Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo to join the festivities.
According to the governor, Degamo was invited in an effort to encourage the continued partnership between the two provinces.
The festival provides an opportunity for farmers to either sell or exhibit their products, along with presenting sustainable innovations in organic farming.
The event runs until Saturday./DGB, WDJ
