At least one person was killed yesterday morning following a collision between a motorcycle and a tricycle along the national highway in Escalante City’s Barangay Junob-junob.
Police identified the fatality as July Mata, the operator of the motorcycle; while his wife, Jacquelyn Mata, was hospitalized after sustaining multiple injuries. Both are residents of the city’s Barangay Mabini.
Based on an investigation carried out by Escalante City police, the motorcyclist and his wife were heading home when a tricycle, operated by Archer Villaran, sideswiped the motorcycle, which caused the crash.
