Ceres FC wins second trophy this season

After earlier clinching the Philippines Football League title for the third year in a row, Ceres-Negros FC picked up their second trophy this season, winning the 2019 Copa Paulino Alcántara following a 2-1 win over Kaya FC-Iloilo over the weekend at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.
Ceres striker Robert Lopez Mendy opened scoring in the 30th minute; however, after neither side managed to score within the first 45 minutes, the Bacolod City-based side when into halftime up 1-0.
Into the second half, the Negrense club saw themselves edging close to the cup after midfielder Tristan Kit Robles made it 2-0 in the 68th minute.
The Iloilo City-based side pulled one back in the 85th minute with a goal from striker Kenshiro Daniels but Ceres FC pulled through to the final whistle to take the cup./ASC, WDJ
