An estimated P7 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated early yesterday morning following a buy-bust operation along South Capitol Road in Bacolod City.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 38-year-old Ronaldo Roquero, who was the primary target. Also nabbed were 30-year-old Gerline Yabut and 40-year-old Alcyn Dwight Cuadra.
Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas team leader, Police Lieutenant Thurslie Castillo, said they identified Roquero as a high-value drug target and a suspected member of the Silay City-based Michael Divinagracia drug syndicate.
The law enforcement official said the transaction they made was “moving” as the suspects refused to exit their vehicle and the drugs were handed to the buyers.
As police moved in, a brief scuffle ensued as the suspects tried to escape.
Police recovered at least one kilogram of suspected shabu from the suspects, along with drug paraphernalia, the suspects’ sports utility vehicle, a mobile phone, and suspected drug money amounting to P8,500.
Aside from illegal drugs charges against the suspects, police are also conducting an investigation to determine if they have connections with two drug suspects who are presently detained at the Negros Occidental District Jail./DGB, WDJ
