A motorcyclist believed to be inebriated was recently arrested after allegedly attempting to evade a police checkpoint in Bacolod City’s Barangay Mansilingan.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 32-year-old Ayan Lamintac, a resident of the barangay’s Purok Katilingban.
Based on information provided by Police Station 7 (PS7), they were conducting a checkpoint operation as part of “Oplan: Sita” when they stopped Lamintac’s motorcycle.
Police immediately determined he was inebriated due to the smell of alcohol; however, instead of cooperating, the suspect allegedly tried to escape and struck Patrolman Rodel Marca in the process, slightly injuring the officer.
Authorities immediately ordered Lamintac to dismount from the motorcycle and he was arrested.
Lamintac could face criminal charges for the incident and is detained at PS7./DGB, WDJ
