The 17-day-old infant who was kidnapped earlier this week at a Bacolod City shopping mall was recently reunited with his family.
The baby boy was brought to Police Station 1 (PS1) by Michelle Robles, a resident of Talisay City, late Tuesday night. The police then immediately contacted the infant’s parents, Wilmar and Mary Grace Goto, both residents of Barangay Granada.
According to Robles, her sister, the infant’s kidnapper, Angelie Gonzales, was suffering from depression and had nervous breakdown after suffering a miscarriage.
She explained, due to Gonzales’ “desperation to hold a baby,” she tried to find a way to get one, which ultimately led to the abduction.
When Gonzales returned home to Talisay City with the infant, her family immediately took the child and returned to Bacolod City.
The infant’s parents said they plan to file criminal charges against Gonzales.
Robles, meanwhile, apologized on behalf of her sister.
She added, they currently do not know Gonzales’ whereabouts as, shortly after they took the infant away, the latter left their residence and has yet to return./DGB, WDJ
