Bacolod City to extend P4.5M in assistance to quake-hit Mindanao

The Bacolod City government announced they will be extending P4.5 million in financial assistance to Cotabato and Davao del Sur following the strong quakes that recently struck the region.
Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, cluster head for the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), said the city will provide P500,000 each for Makilala, Tulunan, Magpet in Cotabato; and Magsaysay and Bansalan in Davao del Sur. Meanwhile, Kidapawan City, Cotabato and Digos City, Davao Del Sur will each receive P1 million.
Vargas clarified, the city can only extend assistance to the areas declared under state of calamity.
He added, the funding may be released by next week as it still needs the approval from the Sangguniang Panlungsod./DGB, WDJ
