Malabor: Circles shaded 5% to 10% should count
Former Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor yesterday announced his appeal pertaining to the earlier recount conducted on the town’s mayoral race is already with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Manila. He previously filed an appeal after the recount affirmed Dr. Irene Consunji Montilla’s victory as Isabela mayor,
However, the recount reduced Montilla’s slim lead from 48 votes to 22 and Malabor said that he is hoping for a favorable decision from the Comelec. The former mayor claimed, in the recount result, there are at least 200 votes in his favor that were not counted.
Malabor said, shading a circle by his name by five or 10 percent is indicative of a vote.
“Not counting the vote is like depriving the voter of his right to vote,” he added./DGB, WDJ
