Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer recently stated the Provincial Board acted on all the legislative requests endorsed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and various localities within their first 100 days. He also affirmed the local legislative body would continue the practice.
“It is a challenge I posed to myself and the board members to act on these expediently, judiciously, and with due diligence within the bounds of law without any thought of political gain or profit.” he said.
According to the 100 days report, which was furnished to local reporters, the board enacted two appropriation ordinances and five general ordinances, reviewed 391 enactments from localities across the province, and approved the accreditation of 30 civil society organizations.
The board has conducted 18 sessions, six of which were recorded with perfect attendance.
Meanwhile, Ferrer also discussed staffing at his office, noting, only casual workers at his office were replaced.
Earlier this year, following his election, the vice governor claimed there was an overwhelming demand for jobs within his office, telling members of the media that his phone was “flooded with messages from jobseekers.”/DGB, WDJ
