One person was confirmed dead, while another was wounded, following a shooting incident yesterday morning in Bacolod City’s Barangay Banago.
Police identified the fatality as 29-year-old Mark Alob, a resident of the Purok Lilang in the said barangay; while the wounded was 33-year-old Ryan Albarico, a resident of Purok Kawayan also in the said neighborhood.
Based on an investigation carried out by Police Station 3 (PS3), Alob was standing at a foot walk when the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Fritz Diosanta, pulled out an unidentified caliber firearm and shot Alob.
Albarico, meanwhile, was caught in the crossfire and was shot in the back.
Diosanta immediately fled the scene, while Alob and Albarico were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
Alob eventually succumbed to his wounds around an hour and a half after the incident, while Albarico is still confined at the hospital.
PS3 continues to investigate possible motives behind the shooting./DGB, WDJ
